Support
We provide tailored support to individuals, ensuring their access to a wide range of services. We work with various agencies to promote inclusivity and enable the homeless to integrate into society.
Empowerment
Our dedicated team helps the residents to overcome the barriers they experience. They empower them to become confident by adopting practical skills to achieve their goals. Additionally, we work with agencies, which provide specialist support.
Education
Our mission is to educate individuals and have access to different educational courses. The homeless will be provided with practical knowledge and skills, to increase their employability and independence and develop social networks. This includes: communication and team work skills, problem solving, independent thinking and decision making.
Commitment
We are committed to support all of our residents to improve their lives and reduce homelessness within the community. We are devoted to anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practices, ensuring fair treatment and equality for all our residents.
Listening
We communicate effectively with all residents through listening to their views and goals. We develop creative solutions and a person-centred approach to help individuals achieve their ambitions and potential.
Transformation
We support the homeless to transform their live and become confident and skilled individuals, who are empowered to achieve their potential and connect with the community and the world.
Accommodation
At Select Homes we provide quality accommodation and support to all residents. Each individual will have their own room with a key and it is their responsibility to keep it safe. This will allow individuals to have their private space, which promotes independence.
Staff will not normally enter your room and will knock before doing so if they need to talk to you. However, there may be occasions when staff will go into your room without prior permission for health and safety matters or due to unacceptable behaviour.
Smoking is not allowed anywhere within Select Homes. Our residents are involved in regularly cleaning and tidying their room and common areas.
Our friendly staff will carry out a holistic assessment of the needs of each individual, who has signed up to the support programme. Moreover, a comprehensive risk assessment will be conducted, followed by creating a support plan. The residents will be supported in every aspect of their daily activities, so they can develop their independence.
Our staff are trained to identify any barriers that will prevent the individuals from leading a stable and productive life. Support will be available for each individual to overcome these barriers and maintain their tenancy. Additionally, we assist our service users to find long-term accommodation, by exploring various options, including registering on the council’s housing list.
Referrals
Select Homes takes referrals Monday to Friday (during opening hours), from statutory, voluntary and private organisations, as well as self- referrals.
Residents need to be aged 18 and over and have support needs (homeless, lack of income, disabilities and victims of domestic violence). We will conduct full assessments to ensure that our accommodation meets adequately the residents’ needs.
To secure accommodation at Select Homes, residents will need to provide proof of income and identification. We accept DSS/Welfare Benefits.
